If Agbeko doesn't start using one of these immediately he's a disgrace to boxing fans everywhere

Fine, then in his case, his promoter needs to schedule all his fights in the New York region. If his problem gets worse, why continue to schedule a guy that you know can't make it to the fight in the first place?

If a fighter can't make weight, get to the fight, or whatever holds it up then the problem needs to be addressed. We can't just keep having fights scheduled, tv slots made, purses bid on, fighters training for nothing, and fans shelling out their hard earned money just for an imaginary fight.

It reminds me of Bradley V Alexander when Bradley was fighting the flu. I was looking forward to the fight and fully expected the fight not to go on because this is the norm in boxing. Had that happened it would of hurt my love for boxing and I'm a hardcore fan. Imagine what something like that happened to a casual fan, it could really sway them. We wait months for a fight to actually happen and to see a fight get canceled is not a good thing.

I have my extreme doubts about this

why? well someone who is a hardcore fan usually knows when to smell BS and when an injury is legit

      you cannot

I am literally amazed at your misdirected hostility towards Agbeko, who from what I have seen has never shown weakness or a penchant for excuses or backing ouy of fights

he finds an injury, a fairly serious one at that, and you are up in arms about it.

were you this angry when Chris John backed out of his rematch with Rocky Juarez because he had flu like symptoms? Hell it wasn't even something as serious as sciatic it was a flu

Problem is the flu is unpredictable, you can't see it coming. Had John had the flu triggered by something and then did it again to trigger it I would be grilling him as well. Joesph knew that flying or sitting on a plane causes this problem in his body and still decided to go through it. This shouldn't be a surprise to him or his promotion team since he suffered from the same thing in a previous fight. Agbeko should now consider an alternate way of getting to fights that doesn't involve him sitting for a long time or his team should only accept bouts that are in the New York area.

It's not all Joesph though, this is common in the sport of boxing. Due to what seems like very limited fines and not many penalties fighters seem to take their craft not very serious. Look at Joan Guzman for example. It wasn't until he failed to make what his 3rd fight because of weight that he was fined and suspended from the sport? That is absurd and unacceptable to me. Look at Floyd Mayweather vs JMM. I know it's a lot of money that he lost on paper but to Floyd the million dollars or whatever the amount was peanuts, that didn't deter him from coming in overweight. We need stiffer penalties for fighters that don't hold up their end of their contract. A lot of fighters do not respect their contract because breaching it is not a burden to them.

sciatica nerves attacks are far more unpredictable than the ***n flu check..

they don't happen every time you sit for a long period of time, that's just one thing of many that can aggravate it. he has had a couple fights since a small episode he had before the vic d fight.

lol, what, you want dude to spend his entire life standing up.

go bi tch about dudes like guzman and those types in some other thread. this is about agbeko and mares and this situation is a horrible example to try and prove your point.

are you naive enough to believe that the vast majority of boxers don't have some kind of health issue prior to their fights?

i really can't believe that you're serious, you can't possibly be serious can you?
