i remember when omar sheika fought cazaghe he was gonna be the next big thing in the division.....and thou i like him as a person and respect him - i dont think he has developed into the fighter he was said to be. He has a lot of heart and guts - but wat happened along the way? or was he neva truly world class in the first place?

I think his heart, guts and handspeed is what made him stand out from normal fighters. But i dont think he was ever of Championship caliber.Comment

He was always a glorified gutsy fighter. I think he's another one of those guys who'd always put up a great fight agaisnt a great fighter, but come up short.Originally posted by Londonerzor was he neva truly world class in the first place?Comment

Well maybe that will happen to Lacy when/if he ever gets in with cal***he......NAAAAAHHHHH not likely....I never followed Sheika too much but to date his worst mistake was ever stepping in the ring with Lacy....competive fight it was but right then Sheika had to know I will never be champ as long as this guy lives.....(feels his face and says "I am still alive")

Earlier in his career Sheika fought in England against a journeyman fighter Paul Wesley and I swear for the first few rounds Wesley was taking the utter piss out of Sheika, he would turn and walk to the ropes, put his foot on the bottom strand and act as though he was talking to someone in the crowd! I actually felt sorry for Sheika cos the crowd was in stitches everytime Wesley done something crazy and he kept doing it, his tactics ****ed him up though cos he got stopped in the 4th or 5th round while messing about. Sheika lost to another journeyman Brit in Tony Booth so while an exciting ****er & good to watch he has always been limited.Comment
