seeing as paul williams, james kirkland, ricky hatton and fernando montiel all been knocked out in the early rounds and been on the canvas before.. i suppose they all have no chin?
I think you gotta' judge it on a case by case basis (like alot of things) and form your opinion accordingly.

I'm of the opinion that Khan has an average to less-than-average chin. He's always on *****-street Does this preclude him from having a great career? No. Look at Miguel Cotto (one of my all time favorites). Does it preclude him from ATGness? Maybe. Probably? I think probably but we'll see.

For me, SM KO Paul Williams is an anomaly in the prime of a pretty good career of a guy with a pretty good chin.

Ricky Hatton got smoked by the 2 best fighters in the last how many years at the end of a career as a brawler. I'd say his chin was average to better than average.

James Kirkland? Could be like Khan, Could be like Williams (just talking chins now). For me the jury is still out on this one.

Donaire KO Fernando Montiel looks to me more like P-Dub than Khan.

For the record, my definition (and so baseline for comparison) of the indestructible chin is that of the very-very great, #1 ATGest middleweight (arguably) Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

None of the guys you mentioned were knocked down by as wack fighters as Khan has been knocked down by. Hatton was knocked out by Mayweather and Pacquiao, Williams has been knocked out by Sergio Martinez, Fernando Montiel was knocked out by Nonito Donaire, all of those fighters were/are top 10 P4P fighters and were/are the best in their division. Kirkland was the only one there who was knocked out by a no name.

None of the fighters that knocked Khan down were top P4P fighters or one of the best fighters in their division.

        Martinez: #3 P4P, Middleweight King
        Pacquiao: #1 P4P, #2 Welterweight
        Mayweather: #2 P4P, #1 Welterweight
        Donaire: #4 P4P, #1 Bantamweight
        This.
