Not only is Atlantic City a very cool city, it would be closer for the British and it isn't that far from New York. It isn't like Bradley has a huge following in California anyways.
I dont see much brits going to ths fight tbh, If i was GBP i would try to capitalise on the asian guy vs the black guy thing just my opinion. this fight deserves at least 10,000 but i have a feeling it will do like 5000

Nope. His contract, according to all sources (including his manager) expires in May and Arum had this to say:
“Bradley’s the kind of fighter we’d love to have. He just comes off nicely as a person and is the kind of opponent I think Manny would welcome, the kind of opponent who is good for the sport of boxing,” the 79 year old Arum said.

"Bradley's under contract with Gary Shaw, and it's up to Gary to come through with another fight for him before his contract runs out. We've made no bones about it that we would love to have Tim Bradley become a part of Top Rank."

Bob Arum continues by nullifying any concerns he might be trying to pry Bradley from Shaw while he's under contract.

"But that's only when it's legally able to be done. So we haven't talked to him, and we haven't proposed anything to him."

After Arum confirms that he plans on doing business properly by not fishing for Bradley while he's swimming in another promotional pond, he reconfirms his desire to sign the undefeated American.

"But if you asked me if we would want Tim Bradley to become a Top Rank fighter, the answer, certainly is yes."

Arum also made a slight knock on the job Gary Shaw has been doing with Bradley.

"Tim Bradley is an excellent fighter, and he's a very articulate, clean-living young man. We would do a full publicity blitz on Tim Bradley to make him known to the public. We would not do what's been done with him."

Of course, one thing Timothy Bradley's signature on a Top Rank promotional contract means to boxing is the potential for a showdown with Manny Pacquiao. Arum addresses this fight's potential.

"Obviously, then, that would be our goal to build him. To build his name recognition so that we could make a fight happen between Tim Bradley and Manny Pacquiao."

If all goes right, Arum believes a Bradley-Pacquiao fight could happen in November of this year or early 2012, but heavy promotion would have to be done to build Bradley's name.

Bradley has made it known his goal is Pacquiao. “That's where the key is right now, Manny Pacquaio.” No way he passes up his chance if it's there for the taking.Getting the Khan fight means signing an extension with Shaw and Bradley's manager (also Donaire's manager ironically) don't get along at all.

Arum made it public, technically without poaching, that if Bradley wants to be a star and get a Pacquiao fight... come to Top Rank. That would explain his hesitation in signing for Khan, but obviously Shaw wants the fight... he wants to keep Bradley in his stable.

I thought it was just the automatic rematch for Alexander on top of the original fight, but there wasn't any sort of extension beyond that. Contract expires May 10th from everything I've read.

cool thanks for the info. i knew arum made those statements about bradley, btu surprised on how short gary's extension was.

well then this def changes the situation by quite a lot ... it would prob be in his best interest not to take the kahn fight then. but he'd have to be very careful on who he fights in the interim. theyre going to have to be good enuf for hbo to approve but not so dangerous that he loses. i hope the fight still comes off, but not so sure if teh contract is in reality so short

Someone please tell me why this would be a 50/50 purse split. Isn't khan the ticket seller here?

I don't know what his HBO contract looks like, so it may be possible he goes (back) to Showtime now that Top Rank has that connection. My personal trajectory for Bradley would be taking a strap from either Senchenko or Zaveck, with Zaveck being the better target because he likes to **** and it would make for a more crowd-pleasing showcase.

That way he'd move up to 147 (which he has been seriously contemplating and even experimented with already), take a championship, and then set up a unification bout with Pacquiao in the Spring of '12. In the meantime, Top Rank can build his name up in the public.

Easy Bradley is the num 1 Jr WW in the world and the two time unified Div champ,Bradley is also undefeated..This fight is 50/50 because Khan is a ticket seller..Khan really does not bring much to the table in terms of credentials, that's all Bradley..This is a 50/50 fight if I ever saw one..

I agree with this, but I won't lie imo he needs that 140lb belt to fall back on..Those WW's are big, that's a div that Bradley can take an L in,he might wanna get that Ring Belt just in case that should happen he has something to fall back on..

Just like how Mayweather won't sign to fight Pacquiao.
