Was Floyd was scouting/planning to fight Berto?

And if Berto had a little more good fortune and was able to finish Ortiz when he had him hurt.. Possibly with another solid punch or an over eager referee. We might never have fully seen Berto's true lack of stamina/ability to get a second wind, and inability to adapt as a very competitive fight dragged out.

Worse yet, a week or two later Mayweather was going to anounce he planned on fighting a young undefeated lion in Berto. Come fight night May/Berto, Mayweather would have put on a clinic and fans would have watched Mayweather in a totally pointless fight. An exhausted Berto would be pleaded with by his corner to show his assassin/ beast side to no avail. We should be pretty thankful Ortiz was able to dig deep and close out the fight.

Berto was nearly paid another fortune for a fight he's done nothing to earn and Mayweather's time was going to be wasted.

Mayweather was not simply at this fight to watch boxing, and he wasn't there solely to scout a tremendous underdog in Ortiz. He wouldn't have had 50 cent get on a plane for that. He was looking forward to snatching Berto's "0." Should be interesting to see Mayweather's next move now. Will he be interested in flipping his plans and fighting Ortiz?

Floyd was there praying Berto would lose.

He can't make money fighting Andre.

      C'mon now...just think about it..

Ortiz has a huge mexican fanbase...that means means big money.

      Ortiz' fanbase > Berto's 0

I heard that the Lakers signed Floyd to a 10 day contract for his defensive genius against Chris Paul.

Thread/ ... All joking aside, can you imagine how crushed Ellerbe must have been watching Mayweather and 50 cent bromancing it up? Crushed.
