You actually think Roach would stop a sparring session if Manny is winning? Pffft...it's pretty clear that Victor was slapping the Diva around so Roach stopped it...how long ago was this again?

When Pacquiao was a superfeather preparing for Marquez and at lightweight for Diaz.
Mark Whicker: Freddie, I guess the concern that people have mostly about this fight is whether Mannys punches are going to have the same effect against a guy that big and Mannys ability to take Oscars punches, assuming that he does get hit.
How do you address those two things and who is the guy that you remembered (unintelligible) in Mannys career who he had to take the hardest punches from?
Freddie Roach: Well Manny in his career nobody as big as Oscar. of course. But in the gym, Victor Ortiz - he and Manny went at it, I mean toe-to-toe. Victors a good puncher, very strong kid.
Manny handled it with no problem but again the gyms a gym and the fight is a fight. Oscar his right hand is kind of okay but his left hook is a power shot; something we have to look out for. Were working on staying away from that.
And Mannys size the thing is again, Im not looking for a knockout. If a knockout comes, it comes. Were going to break this guy down and win each round one at a time. And thats our goal.
And if Oscar tires, like he normally does, we will stop him. Im not worried about Manny being a knockout puncher in this fight because hes not that one- punch knockout type of guy. He breaks people down and he gets them out late and is more with aggression.

but it was JUST a sparring session...when 2 southpaws get together its usually explosive anyway....Manny smashes him in a REAL fight imo
