Saul Alvarez vs Victor Ortiz at 154

Ortiz is a bigass welterweight. That ****er looked huge I don't know how he ever made 140, I think he can climb to 154 and be good there too. How do you see him againts Canelo?

Ortiz would destroy Alvarez. Ortiz should make it a mission to destroy the WBC paper champs first Berto at 147, then take Alvarez belt at 154, and take Chavez JR's belt at 160. He can do this in a matter of one year lol

Ortiz has far better movement and boxing skills that Alvarez So i can easily see him beating him. But if they stand and trade Id be interesting to see if Ortiz could carry his power another weighclass (Ithink he would), Because canelo might be limited in certain areas but punches like a mofo

Ortiz would take this one. I can see GB making this fight down the line.

Victor got this one. He is more skilled, faster, and is more experienced than Canelo. Also Victor will beat him easily if he takes the fight inside and rough up Saul like he did Berto. Look at Saul's fight with Hatton ffs he was getting bullied on the inside.

It depends on how well Ortiz does witht he rest of the Welterweight division and how he carries his skills/attributes up another 7 pounds. If, for example, he moved up right now he'd be jumping 14 pounds in the span of two or three fights. That leaves you assuming quite a bit.

However, if he grows into the weight with two or three more fights, it'd make sense. The problem is that Alvarez is still a growing kid. He's barely going to be 21 I believe and he's only going to get bigger.

It'd be an exciting fight, but it's hard to see happening and it's hard to imagine time helping this fight along.

Still, all that considered, in a pound for pound sense, I can see Ortiz taking this fight. Alvarez seems to be a gutsy kid and he can land some thudding shots. However, he's open and slower than Ortiz. Ortiz has fast power and can take a good shot. That allows him to get through the tough spots and potentially land the shots that change the fight. He probably finishes him in the mid to later rounds in an exciting fight.

But, Alvarez is still untested. You never know.

ortiz has the tools to beat him, so i would assume ortiz. this fight will never happen though imo, ortiz and alvarez are both of dela hoya's poster boys now....it'd be a great fight to see whenever or if ortiz decided to move up.
