  • What should a natural WW weigh in at on fight night?

Victor weighing in at 161 seems pretty big, and to think he was moving up from 140. Berto coming in at 156 lbs seems about right.

155-160. 161 is on the big end...he must have been KILLING himself to get down to 140.

Natural welterweights are rehydrating between 10-15 lbs fight night. Rehydrating around 20 lbs or more is not recommended.

Realistically a guy like Berto could be fighting at 140 comfortably.

Yeah that sounds about right and this is just a general statement though, everyone is different.

Well I mean technically a natural WW would weigh 147 on fight night

As long as they make 147 at the weigh-in there is no what should they weigh...

I think everyone was suprised though...

Ortiz must have really struggled making 140 or really got bulked up for this fight...

Amazing Otiz camp originally wanted a catch weight at 143 which made sense at time, but he was obviously bigger than Berto on fight night and more importatntly carried it well.

                  155 to 158 seems reasonable.

165+ on fight night is a big Welterweight

Less than 150lbs on fight night is a small Welterweight.

Talent , skills and conditioning are the ultimate barometer of success. so much more than size.

If they are in tip top shape, they usually come in around 147-150....floyd usually is 147. 161 is a little over the top for a WW IMO..
