would be a good fight. Ortiz hasn't faced anybody like Cotto, whereas Cotto has faced some sick competition, which Ortiz has yet to reach. Thus, the experience will be on Cotto's side. His jab, timing, and power will be something Ortiz hasn't faced. I think Cotto would neutralize Ortiz's offense with his assets.

I just finished watching the Ortiz/Berto fight and have to give respect to Victor Ortiz. He has moved on from the Maidana fight and is finally taking on his opponents man to man. He's humble as well based on his words during the post fight interview he gave to Merchant. Great fight!

Now vs. Cotto I don't see Victor giving Cotto problems as this fight would probably pan out something along the lines of Cotto vs Mosley except I can see Cotto neutralizing Ortiz with his stiff straight jab and draining Victor's power with his precision body work. I do think that Victor's uppercut while fighting on the inside would connect and be his best weapon but I just don't think Cotto would let the fight go that way. Also Ortiz's pressure is not constant, he frequently backs up between his combos in order to attack going forward. Cotto's jab would tag him all night.

One thing that could make the difference for Ortiz against Cotto is that Cotto does not clinch and if Ortiz does stun Cotto he may be able to finish him off but it would be a long shot.

Lets not get carried away here folks. Ortiz won a great fight but credit has to be given to his corner for working on his inside game knowing its an area of berto's that was poor.

Cotto would be stronger and more experienced but for what Ortiz done on saturday i am now a fan,, Respect to him but Cotto chews him up.

Ortiz should go after one of the weaker belt holders at ww thus gaining more experience at the weight and if he had 2 titles it makes him more marketable but i think at this stage of his career his promoters need to be smart and guide hime slowly fom here and try and market him as well as they can.
        My sentiments exact!!!!!
Cotto is simply on another level from this cats.

This would be somewhat similar to Diaz vs Marquez 1.
