I don't know why everybody believes Ortiz winning was some kind of big shock? This was always going to be a close fight, and one Ortiz was more than capable of winning. Anyone who had Berto as a clear favorite doesn't know **** about .........

/\/\/\Personally, I think Ortiz KO's Khan, if he attacks the way he did Berto, there's no way Khan keeps him off of him.

We know Khan has no chin, Ortiz can take a serious shot and is much, much stronger. If I was Roach, I would stay as far away from Ortiz as possible.

Don't worry about that because that is Roach's specialty.... Ha ha ha!

even before the fight i knew ortiz had the speed, power and intelligence to beat berto but i admit i questioned his heart a little bit. great fight by a great fighter with heart.

I think Stewart said something that was very telling in that fight. He mentioned how hard it is for a fighter to sustain that level of intensity and power throughout a 12 round fight.

I was so impressed with Ortiz, he showed not only amazing heart but that he can go 12 hard fought rounds at a very high pace with ease.

I know the boxing "fans" will discredit Ortiz for this and say Berto was nothing but a hype job but he wasn't. Berto is the truth and just ran into a better skilled and bigger heart in Ortiz.

calling berto a hypejob doesn't take away from ortiz's show of heart and determination.

When I first starting watching Berto fight I thought he was the next coming but what happened is that he didn't step up in comp and truly test himself. If he would have had a better team training wise and a lil more hunger, instead of coasting. Andre Berto would have been one of the great ones by now. I honestly think that Berto picked Ortiz because they thought he was going to quit because of his fight with Maidana and the fact that he also had to move up. Berto thought this fight was going to be easy or else he would have fought Cintron. This is a good win for Ortiz. He beat Andre Berto for his title and took his "0" away. I don't know him personally but I am proud and happy for him. I think with the current upsets happening in boxing this year will shake up these promoters and make them put together the right fights because now they can't even cherry pick wins anymore. Ishida, Rubio, Ortiz and Salido.... All did their thing. This will also inspire the underdogs and so called journey men to train and fight hard. If Mosley beats Pac by some chance then this will be the year of the underdog for sure.

Man this fight was so good i myself was shaking during the fight. And no I did not make any bets because I knew this fight could go either way 50/50. What I find very interested is how some experts and especially alot of people on these forums gave no credit to victor ortiz to even have a chance to win saying hes the smaller man and how berto should face better opposition rather than ortiz etc etc.. to all those people that assumed berto will walk trough ortiz, i hope you guys figured out you dont know **** about boxing haha. I doesnt take much to look at the way a fighter fights and see that he is gifted. nfourtunately for victor ortiz he was not mentally strong in the fights against maidana and peterson and perhaps his corner doesnt not know how to motivate him well. But now we have a different ortiz, the ortiz from last saturday can accomplish anything he wants he just has to believe in himself and dont quit. This is why the top guys at 140 did not want to take the risk with victor ortiz, well unfortunately for them ortiz will be waiting for any champ at 140 who wants to move up. I will say that ortiz will only get stronger at 147 as he develops into that weight. this is the perfect weight for him maybe even 154lb but there will be so much talent at 147 for the next 5 years. I have ortiz winning against Khan,Maidana,bradley,mosley,canelo,marquez. I believe this is the most dangerous fighter for pacman at 147, but pacman is a punching machine with so much speed,power and most important heart.and i just can not imaging nobody beating pacman in a 12round all out war. I wonder if manny has any intention of getting back his 147 belt after relinquishing it

That's why the people you say don't know s..t about boxing thought it would go down a certain way.

Before the fight I posted someone would get ko'd. I predicted an early knockdown for ortiz but thought berto would get up and stop him due to the bold. Anti-berto crowd figured if ortiz put berto down he would have the stones to get up. Both fighters answered their questions in that fight.

Hopefully this fight didn't drain much from the tanks of these 2.
