I was never a fan of Berto, but I thought the guy had obvious athletic ability. I was interested in seeing him fight Shane Mosley a year and a half ago, as I thought that would be a fight to show us if he really had what it takes as a prizefighter. The questions about his chin will remain, as he got hurt early in this fight just like in the Collazo fight, but we will see what he brings next time out. As for HBO paying him a ton of money and fighting relatively weak opposition, they should re-think how they handle up and coming prospects who've yet to prove themselves. You should have to beat top level fighters to make big money, and not just be given a free ride to the huge paychecks.
