In 2010 we didn't get an candidate for Fight of the Year until August when Segura and Calderon waged war for the first time out. Then we had Roman Martinez losing to Ricky Burns. Soto-Antillon and Khan-Maidana closed out the year.
4 months into 2011 and we've already had Rios-Acosta, the sick Marquez-Concepcion fight, Morales-Maidana, and Ortiz-Berto.
For 2010 the Upset of the Year was Jason Litzau over Celestino Caballero. Even though it was an upset I thought it won that award because there weren't many upsets in 2010. I thought it was pretty mediocre to say the least.
4 months into 2011 we've had KO artist Lemieux lose to Rubio, Marcus Johnson was upstaged, Morales almost beat Maidana, Kirland got destroyed in 1 round by feather-fisted Ishida, Ortiz beat Berto, and Salido went to PR and knocked JuanMa Lopez out.
All we need is some quality KOs. Though I doubt they top Martinez KO 2 Williams.
