No one outside Rigondeaux or Donaire is likely capable of beating Gamboa right now. John still merits recognition as top dog at 26 though and it would be interesting. I think the one knock for John is his chin has looked fragile at times and he hasn't faced much in the way of punchers. Excellent fighter though.
