As a superfight it's dead and Lopez probably has to move up in weight anyway, but as an opponent Lopez still brings his power to the table against Gamboa. Truthfully I don't know which route Gamboa will take right now, since there are no more truly big fights for him at 126.

Certainly some of the heaviest punches ever traded in the 126 pound class.

Yeah....because Junior Jones beating Marco Antonio Barrera took away from the epic trilogy that was beating MAB and Erik Morales.

Took Barrera 4 years to come back from that loss though.

He can redeem himself. He needs to work on his defense. But now he has two rematches to worry about.

As the third most wanted fight in the world, this fight is dead, but if he can bounce back then I'd still like to see it.

if you people know arum, thats not going to deter him. morales lost to raheem before the second pac fight yet they still made the rematch. gamboa vs lopez is still gonna happen.

This is what's wrong with boxing. the fans 1 loss & your done mentality.

Arum was never going to make that fight happen anyways though, he was just feeding the public what they wanted to hear. Arum knew that Gamboa would spark JuanMa out if they were to compete and he knows that in PR, JuanMa sells a ton. Now they want a rematch, I guess so that if he gets his belt back, he can once again be though of as a champion prior to a gamboa fight. Dunno, but this is the kind of stuff that happens to some guys when they are famous, they underestimate the opponents and they get hosed. Salido is very good and I take nothing away from him but I suspect that he was overlooked a bit as JuanMa had Gamboa roaming around in the back of his mind during his training camp.
