i think ppl often blame the corner too much, but in this case i agree 100%. his corner has always been bad but saturday night was just terrible.

there was no constructive critisism or good advice between rounds just ****ing chaos. i really think berto wouldve done better walking back to an empty corner, he wouldnt have a bunch of bad advice and loud ******s yelling in his ear.

after every round ortiz went back to his corner and was alowed to wind down, get his breathing right, relax and listen to how he could do better. berto was walking back to the birdcage at the ****ing zoo with ppl yelling dumb ****, pulling on him and whatnot. he almost looked more comftorable and relaxed when ortiz was pounding him against the ropes than he did in his corner between rounds.

Berto needs to start being more professional when it comes to these very important subtle things.
Agree, I said this to my girl whilst watching the fight, I was like, why dont his trainer tell his bro to STFU?

I kept thinking his trainer was gonna pull an Angelo Dundee on him, when he told someone in Sugar Ray's corner to be quiet during the Hagler fight.

His inside game has always ******, he needs to fix that. Also, Berto needs to work on his left hook.
He can't box, it's simple. Nothing more training can do. Some will flow like water and some don't. Berto, being as fast as he is can't use the speed well enough because he gives away what he's doing. His movement is parted. Good fighters like Manny and Floyd flow with movement. The best example of a Berto like fighter we know very well is Cotto and every single British welterweight. They have a defense movement, an attack movement and a "go around the ring" movement. They don't flow between them. Cotto is very technical and much better than Berto but he also fails there. Very few can move all the body parts essential at the same time.

Amateur??? A good amateur corner knows a lot and gives lots of good advices. How come amateur? Have you ever heard a good and true amateur corner?? That's disrespectful.

The main thing I hate in corners and I see it all the time is when there is more than one person giving out instructions.

One thing is to give encouragement, that's fine but in my corners I'm the only one giving instructions and directions.

If my second has something to say or add to what he sees, he tells me during the round and then I can choose to tell the fighter in between rounds. You can't have 3,4 people screaming out instructions, it doesn't help the fighter one bit.

He needs to be focused on one voice and one voice only.

His brother should have shut the **** up and let the trainer do his job at least. Berto was dazed and confused and all he seemed to pay attention to was his brother screaming **** that was in no way helpful in winning the fight.

Also was it me, or does his brother look like Kevin Hart?
