I think Juanma pretty much knew he ****ed up immediately after the fight, coming in unfocused. Didn't give any excuses, just wanted a rematch. Can't ask for much more than that.

He took some nasty punches and he has shown in the past that he doesn't have very good defense. He has been hurt quite a bit in the past. It was just a matter of time until this happened.

doubt it will happen since JMM already said he wanted to move up
if it does happen it's a matter of when because with his current skillset i cant see lopez keeping salido off him

I think a lot of people are making excuses for Juanma and not giving enough credit to Salido. Juanma has always had those leaks in his defense, the power usually bailed him out though. Tonight he fought a guy who wasn't getting hit clean and was engaging with him on his own terms, Salido was throwing a lot of looping punches and hard body shots and not giving Juanma a lot of opportunities to counter.

Juanma always fights in that way that he believes he hits harder so he ain't afraid to just wing the punches and hope for the best. He did it against Mtagwa/Marquez/Concepcion/Luevano. The thing though is those guys didn't have the size/power/defense/chin to exploit those leaks.

I'm not saying Salido is a great fighter or anything but his style is all wrong for Juanma, unless Lopez makes the right adjustments by just boxing and focusing more on defense I can see the same result for the rematch. This wasn't 1 lucky punch that got Juanma, he took an ass beating for the last 3-4 rounds and Salido wasn't doing that bad either in the first 3.
