    FOTY: Ortiz vs Berto

Berto fought with much heart and showed his champion colors.. Ortiz proved that he wanted it more and literally beat ALL odds.. Including MY odds.. I would like to start by admitting that i was wrong about Ortiz.. This proves why boxing is the best sport.. Boxing is home of the upsets.. Home to the Pavliks, Tarvers, Johnsons, Rahmans, Barreras, Morales, Margaritos, Trinidads... The upsets.. It shows WHY we have the fights.. Because you never know what will happen. Ortiz was too determined, too sharp, and well coached. Berto brought his heart but left his terrific combinations and stamina at home. Ortiz is an ABSOLUTE BRUTE at Welterweight. I will go ahead and guess that his weight was his real problem at JWW. He had soo much energy and power in this fight. I think Berto lost more confidence after he saw Vic get up from that second knockdown than when Vic actually knocked HIM down. How does anyone get up from that. The replay showed Vic's head was trying to break off of its own neck. Remarkable Fight!!! Congratulations Victor Ortiz! You did it Champ!

Hell of a fight. I couldnt believe how great the first 6 rounds were. I wish Berto wouldnt have held the entire 2nd half of the fight, but other then that, it was ****ing awesome. Ortiz looked like a freakin beast in there! Happy to see it.

Vicious proved his mettle with that win. Ate some big shots, got dropped, but kept going forward. If he can improve his defense a bit, he can last in the division. He's still rough around the edges and his strategy needs tweaking.

All in all, through the doubts and questions he got the huge win he longed for. What a great story.

Great first half. My eyes watered in round 6 when Ortiz got that KD. I love boxing.
