Why was Ortiz ever at 140lbs?

Ortiz looked WAY more solid at 147lbs than at 140 imo. he even rehydrated to 161lbs.

also he seemed to have a much better chin and way better late fight stamina.

He should have been campaigning at 147 from the beginning, 140 was not his weight class at all.

I agree. He's not the only one. Lots of fighters kill themselves to make weight.
I think if more fighters fought at their natural weight, we'd have better fights.
