Ye the only reason people are making a point of it is because of how Ortiz shamefully quit against Maidana, was a very good win last night but thats it,people shouldnt make out its something it wasnt

I'm glad Ortiz won, we need fresh new blood. Old blood Berto out, new blood Ortiz in!

That is what they're meant to do, but can any of us honestly say that an effort like Ortiz showed last night is just a routine thing in boxing these days? That every underdog given a chance to fight for a title shows the same heart and willingness to go out on their shield in the pursuit of victory? That just simply is not the case in this era of boxing.

This was a fighter who had essentially been written off by most people in the sport before the first punch was thrown. It's not uncommon for a fighter in his position to try to eke out a victory, or worse, be content to just survive these days, especially having taken an early lead like he did. But he tried to win every minute of this fight, for the most part. I don't mean to ride his balls or anything - just saying it was a performance worthy of praise.

Ortiz fought hard and got exactly what he deserved. You can't be mad at anyone who questioned his heart before this fight, the Maidana debactle made people question him. Good to see him bounce back.
