What a great night for boxing

I was at the fight last night and let me tell you what a night !!! What a great night for boxing and the atmosphere yesterday at foxwoods was electric !! Props to Berto he was a great champ. Vicious you the man !! No one will ever question your heart again. What a beautiful casino in CT. Also had the chance to meet Paulie Malignaggi, I never like the guy because of all the talking he does- but man what a cool guy. I respect his forwardness and he just tells it like it is- Really cool guy and thanks for the time you took out to mingle with the fans !! What a night !! Golden Boy is shytting on Top Rank right now ! Arribba Mexico !! Dominating boxing right now !!! Mexico # 1 in boxing !!

Either Lamount Peterson is a lot better or Berto is a lot worse than I thought. Or maybe 140 left Ortiz drained.

Ortiz is kinda weird in the post fight.

The guy does have speed and power, great see him come on up. Hopefully someone big is next.

Peterson is not as naturally gifted as Berto, but Peterson has a lot more skills than Berto...

regardless, Ortiz let Peterson back into the fight by taking his foot off the gas pedal.

this is what happens when you put 2 same-level fighters in the ring. fireworks. lets be real here... BOTH berto & ortiz are B class fighters at best (for now). its about time berto fought a fellow b-classer instead of another c-lister. ive always been a fan of berto's explosiveness & ortiz's technical skills & balance. but IMO, it all came down to whether berto would gas out OR ortiz would back-off after 6. sad to say, but this fight was classic berto... ortiz was the one who showed REAL progress.

as long as matchmakers continue to pair up good fights stylistically, then boxing will thrive. im damn giddy about these recent FOTY caliber fights. much respect to morales, but ortiz grabbed this FOTY (as of right now, of course).

Yes Ortiz you the man! I hope you got yourself some fine ass *****es after the fight. This guy Ortiz has fought some top fighters and he's only 24. With all the critics he had, he sounded real hungry after the Peterson fight. He was like... "I don't have the perfect record, I have a lot of critics, I have nothing to lose now.. I'll fight anyone!" Ortiz you a beast son!!

Great fight. Fireworks, just as I expected. Ortiz came to win and win big, Berto looked very flat, but I do think it had quite a bit to do with Victor asserting himself in grand fashion. Vic is a bonified WW and should have been at WW for his last 3 fights. The rematch will be just as competetive, if not a better fight than the 1st, depending on how Berto takes the loss in this one. Ortiz put alot of ghosts to bed last night. He answered alot of questions about himself, and handed a slip of paper to Berto filled with questions that now Berto must ask of himself. I was impressed by both, but more so by Victor.

Great fight, and a HUGE thank you to BOTH fighters for one helluva fight.

..Hats of to Ortiz for beating the odds and the bookmakers. Well deserved belt and Ortiz will go a long way. As for Berto, 1 loss ain't that bad.

well first off f u c k all that hype job and no heart talk!!!! berto is not a hype job i.m.o. hes also not as great like people made him out to be!!!! ortiz did f u c k up obviously the day of his brokedown against maidana!!!! with that said we all made like charlie and where winning las night!!!! both young men did what they did and put on a wonderful show for us the fans and all boxing people in general!!!! i got nervous just watching and thinking man these two kids aint going to make it to the 12th!!!! but they did and at the end ortiz proved he just wanted it more!!! maybe re-assured his fans and the critics that he is what they all thought he was from the first time they saw him box!!! which is a great up and comer/future star!!! berto what can you say the man did what he was suppose to but came up a little short and last night was not meant to be and got beat by a better fighter!!!! thanks to both men for making it an awesome bout and thats why i love boxing!!!!!
