    +260 good odds for Ortiz?

For any bettors out there, are you surprised at +260 for Ortiz? I think the odds are far too one side here. Berto is going off at -340. Even if you favor Berto, 3-1 seems too high to me. I think Ortiz might be a good bet.

    It's a decent bet.

The safe bet, for me, would be taking the under. The under is at 9 1/2 with a +115.

I'd put, for example, $100 on the under. I'd have the better chance as both have tasted the canvas. I could even hedge my bet by still putting $20 to $50 on Ortiz straight up. This way, I have a wide spectrum of opportunities and so long as Ortiz wins, I make decent money. If he gets knocked out early, I still make some money in the long run. I would just root against a late stoppage or decision.

If I put $100 on the under and $50 on Ortiz, I stand to make a profit in most potential circumstances. Unless it's Berto winning in any fashion past the under expiration, I make money.

Ortiz wins before the under runs out = $255.

Ortiz wins in any fashion = $40.

Berto wins by stoppage before the under runs out = $65.

You could obviously bet on a smaller or larger scale still using this logic.

I wouldn't take those odds, not to say they are terrible but you are basically inline with his chances, I personally like to be getting paid a bit extra to take the dog.

If you like Ortiz's chances by all means though.

Indeed, you can never really go wrong with 6-1 unless it is a total mismatch. I don't really like Ortiz's chances but there are reasons to think he could pull it out.

That is how it goes though, lines usually tighten up a bit especially on a fairly high profile fight. Knowing when to bet to get the proper odds is very important.

Do you place your bets online, and if so, what site do you use? I'm not that experienced of a bettor so I guess I waited too long to get in this one. Even though only a few responses, you guys don't seem to think its a good bet, so I'm not going to put any money on this fight.

Don't worry about it, happens all the time. And if you had placed the bet and Ortiz didn't win, you'd still be beating yourself up about it.
