    Thoughts on tonights fight

Amir Khan didn't look too good but IMO that was due to the Irishmans style. He made the fight ugly, happens to the best. Amir Khan looked better vs Maidana because he was there to be hit. MCloskey was ducking down when he got close....

Frank Warren said the arena would be empty, how did you like the turnout you spiteful muppet?

Amir Khan isn't going to look too good against Bradley, Bradley is going to go to the inside with Khan and make Khan look average but I still think Khan can win due to his speed/size.

Khan needs to develop an inside-game and use his jab more, when he gets tired he stops using it and just waits and throws flurries, rinse and repeat.

    What I expected really.

Late stoppage I thought and he may have got that via a tko later on.

Was never going to look good against someone like he fought tonight

I thought Khan would stop him in the middle to late rounds. Thought Khan would be too big/strong and quick for Mcloskey and Khan could have just mowed him down, but he won at least.

Khan didn't look his best, but in a way, it's not that surprising. For one, he was fighting a negative fighter. Paul didn't mount much offense, and basically just wanted to avoid being hurt early by the looks of it, and after his last few opponents, I doubt Khan was too motivated for this one. A lot of top fighters have looked weak in fights they were meant to dominate for the same reason/s.

So, let's just wait and hope for Khan - Bradley, and hopefully the rest of the nights boxing isn't so ****.

Bradley is ****ing tenacious. Maybe Khan can be on the bicycle for a while but for majority of the 12 rds...I don't know.

Indeed. Khan has to sort out his stamina a bit..imo he has decent stamina not on the level of people like Pacquaio/Calzaghe but decent. His workrate was pretty great in the first few rounds of this fight and Maidana but slowed down considerably in both fights and in the case of Maidana thats when he started to look vulnerable.

Surprised by McCloskey, I gave him a round in there. Khan troubled with the elusiveness of McCloskey, from what I witnessed - this spells 'bad news' for Khan since a bout with Bradley will be in the making now.

Bradley is the man to beat Khan, I'm absolutely sure of it.

Thats how I saw it too. Paul refused to move forward most of the time and initiate attacks. Plus Amir was trying too hard too press for the knockout, which is why he missed alot of shots and didn't look too great. If he had just been patient and boxed like he did against Malignaggi he would have looked better and probably got the KO late.

True, I hadn't mentioned that. He was pretty determined to blow him outta there, probably hoping to excite people for the Bradley match-up. I agree though, if he'd boxed and used him jab more, he probably could've looked a lot better.
