Look, I cannot argue with your bottom line, a true champion will try to avenge a loss..... but let's be real here, Prescott is an absolute nobody, in a rematch he would be seriously outclassed and badly beaten up.

How the hell could they even sell a Prescott fight? nobody was interested in the European champ McCloskey.

You simply cannot compare the green kid who lost to Prescott, with the Amir Khan that fought Maidana. Aside from the fact that Khan now has the best boxing coach in the world, access to one of the world's best sparring partner's, as well as top facilities/exposure/conditioning..... that fight was at LW, so the paradigm has completely changed.

Add to that the fact that Prescott has not only failed to make any sort of impact, he has likely regressed, whereas Khan has beaten the wildman at 140.

In a rematch, there is a far better chance that Amir will trip over the top step and knock himself out before even entering the ring, than Prescott landing a hail-mary punch that could hurt Khan.

Those two fighters are leagues apart now, let it go.

I would not pay to watch that fight, and neither would most other punters I imagine, so it will never happen.

Let me give you an example.....
If Sergio Martinez should not be required to rematch Margarito, then why the hell should Prescott even get a mention?

        Why?

Because unlike Prescott, Margarito has actually been relevant, and yet..... he has never even approached the level that Martinez is on right now.

In a rematch now, Margarito would be badly outclassed..... but not as bad as Prescott would be.

The only person who would even be slightly interested in a Martinez/Margarito rematch, would be somebody who wants to see Margarito get bashed up..... you must really hate Prescott, coz that fight would be even worse

Khan looked a little amaturish tonite - I dont think his future is too bright if he decides to step up the competition at 147.

Not literally of course. Fighters barely equal or smaller to his own size.

How many rounds did McCloskey win? Because I don't think that he won any. How many good shots did he land? I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-4. Fact is, Amir was beating the **** out of him and while it may suck that it ended the way it did, his win doesn't mean less because of it.

Anyway, on to the next one for Amir, meanwhile McCloskey's going to spend the rest of his life crying like a little girl and as a result, never get another look if another world title opportunity arises.
