Nope, there is no secret message in this post. Berto is just an example because of his fight tonight but it can go for many fighters in the sport. It's fine to criticize fighters due to inactivity or less than stellar resumes but to just disregard skill is ignorant. I have never been a Berto fan but I do acknowledge the skills and actually think when the two all time greats are gone that he could be the best in the division.

I am just hoping for a good fight tonight.

Hopefully it isn't ugly. Just a nice little war.

Another thing, Berto is a different animal when he's not facing southpaws. Just wanted to point that out, he's been constantly fighting southpaws.

Thing is,people are still treating this guy as if he was some type of prospect.The man is in his late 20's,has been a pro for over six years,and held a world title for almost three.And considering his only real asset as a fighter is his hand speed,he's gone about as far as he can possibly go unless there is a dramatic improvement.



It's a shame that Arum is too much of a greedy,selfish,money-grabbing bastard to put his star in with Berto.Out of all the other potential opponents,Pacquiao would beat Berto in the worst possible fashion and truly expose his limitations.

I think he is overrated and the only fighter you named he has a shot of beating is Clottey..Marga's Cotto Mosley Pac May all beat his azz..Do priced himself out not to fight Mosley who many was calling shot..He will try to avoid any real threats at all cost to try to steal(sorry)I mean secure a Pac fight..

Berto on the other hand has had the title for 3 years and could have fought Manny, Floyd, Mosley, Margarito, Cintron, Cotto, Williams and Clottey. But im sure they ALL avoided him because he "chased" after the big fights

all berto has is size, speed, and power. there's no real skill behind it. he's just a gifted athlete.

his resume is garbage. his skills are good enough to exploit his natural gifts, but have only been tested once or twice against mediocre competition.

to say berto is underrated is a farce. berto is untested...especially since he's had a steady diet of jr WWs.

Berto is a good fighter and i think he gives Manny Pac a real rough night. His speed is unreal and he can crack a bit too. He also has some good skills. He isnt a fighter i have alot of time for what with his disrespect of Mosley, over valuing himself, being babied by HBO and his lack of top comp plus the blatant ducking of Cintron but the boy is good. He may not have proven just how good he is yet but he CAN fight, i rate him
