Berto is underrated, there I said it.

He ducked Zavec, defended against JWW's, arguably had already lost agsint one and got dominated last night against a non top 5 JWW.I'm saying it now and I want to be on the record for it. Andre Berto is underrated. Yes, I understand that his career has been frustrating thus far but lets not discredit a fighter simply because he has yet to fight a top tier fighter. Berto is young, has plenty of time to prove himself, and prove himself he will. The hate he gets is warranted but it does not diminish his skills.
I have always felt out of all the contenders at 147, Berto stands the best chance against the two headed animal, known as Mayweather and Pacquaio. I'm not sure he would beat either one but he brings a different style and his skills offset the skills of the other two. For example in the Cotto V Pacquaio fight the speed was overwhelming but in a Berto V Pacquaio fight, Mannys greatest asset the punches that you don't see coming would be offset by Bertos speed. There's more reasons why Berto would be a better challenge than Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, Mosely etc etc. but I think you understand my point.
I have no problem with demanding top fighters to fight the best but just to discredit them is wrong. Bertos skills are top notch and if he applies himself he can be one of the best fighters in the world. He has the skills and the "it" factor, now he just has to go out and get it.Comment

Berto's skills are rare and excellent... Problem is you can't teach CHIN. He and Khan both have that problem... They mistake HEART for CHIN. Heart doesn't mean you can eat a punch good. They happen to have heart but no chin. I think Berto is underrated by his critics and overrated by his fans.... he is somewhere in the middle. No matter what he should be a top 5 or 6 WW. If he is not, you're doing something wrong... I got Vic at 4 behind May/Pac/Shane... Then I got Berto behind him... Unless we include Cotto at 147I'm saying it now and I want to be on the record for it. Andre Berto is underrated.
