Why do Mexicans and Puerto Ricans hate each other?

I know they are rivals in boxing, but is that the reason they hate each other or is it something else? Also when did this begin, and if it was because of boxing what were the fights that started all the hate towards each other. I am a fan of a lot of fighters from both countries so I am neutral in all this.

This does seem to be the root cause for a lot of the animosity. Puerto Ricans are a typically happy, festive Island people...We don't have much room for envy, and downing another people. We just love being who we are good or bad.
