It often is, depending on the author. I've seen it in books for many years. Usually light reading, not serious tomes.

I find that Americans do this all the time... sort of, changing the English language to a simpler, more phoenetic spelling. I was brought up the "old"way", and, in my time have taught foreigners to comprehend English better for writing reports. I always found it complicated to try to explain why "humour" was spelled in America and Canada as "humor", etc. I still have no better explanation.

agreed, i have as well. it's very common in everyday material. another example would be thru for through but anyway, not sure what our pissed off english professor spitballa is on about tho.

It's possible given Mcloskey is a southpaw (not sure how fast his hands our) maybe Khan doesn't see a punch coming and gets KTFO. He saw practically every punch of Maidan's and prepared himself accordingly

I actually smell an upset, i wouldn;t put any money on it but i do belive the irish fella has a chance, Khan's had a lot of stuff on his mind in the last few weeks he might not have his whole mind on Mcloskey.

i rethought this fight through and if mccloskey can get past khans jab enough he actually got a decent shot to land pinpoint hooks or uppercut.. fight might be another tough one for khan. should be better than i first suspected
