    Leavander Johnson... what a warrior

I just saw the fight he had with Chavez, and in looking at it i kept thinking... Chavez vs Taylor 1.... I think the stoppage didnt come any sooner because Johnson had a lot of heart and even though he was getting pounded... he'd come back right when u thought ok thats it for him. Its hard to stop a fighter who is fighting so hard to stay in. The type of beating Jesus Chavez dealt though... was definitely looking like Chavez taylor 1... especially those shots to the body.

I wish the best to Leavander and proved that he is a true warrior and gave the fans a great fight where he held his own pretty well.

A great warrior indeed with a lot of pride. Saw the fight yesterday. Just wondering why he did not use his height and reach advantage. My first time to see him fight and I learned that he was hospitalized after the foght. Very very sad news which proves how dangerous the sports of boxing is. Here is a link of the post fight comments bro ultimate...

Chavez is a strong, aggressive pressure fighter who comes in at all angles and throws in volume. Height and reach mean nothing to him if you can't back him off. Johnson just lacked the strength, power and the defense needed to handle a fighter like that. Just like Hearns couldn't keep Hagler off him to outbox him.

Johnson already looked like a severely faded fighter in the Chavex fight IMO. He was slow, tentative and weary quite quickly. He took the shots well, he always has - that's what's given him the career he's had (and the great fights) but it's part of what's put him in this position
