Margarito vs Cotto revenge is not the answer

****** up and recovering from facial surgery it is a long way back for Antonio Margarito. The journey started before the Pacquiao fight and continues with more drama to come. Revenge seems to be the only motivation for a rematch with Miguel Cotto.
The loaded gloves mystery or lack of remains to be seen and now serves as more dollars in the money pot for Margarito and Miguel Cotto should that fight ever occur. Once Margarito as they say had it all. He was feared and simply walked through his opponents with no respect. Slow and plodding was always his style but he had the punch to make the difference.
He was feared and back then even a whisper of a fight against Pacquiao would raise eyebrows. Today we see that David still slays Goliath if the time is right and the cause seems to be just. After all Margarito was seen as a cheater and essentially got what he deserved.
Now that the debt has been paid for Cotto by Pacquiao, Margarito should retire. Take the money and get out of the game. Maybe the same should be said for Cotto but he seems to fight for different reasons.
We are or should be sportsmen. In the business of living that kind of a life. You make a wager or whatever walk up to the bar and hope you see a competitive match. Walk into an arena with some kind of principles that sometimes the towel should be thrown in as an act of mercy. All the comments and replies of fights for revenge for me at least only tarnish the sport. Once again we are sportsmen that want a little better.
Tell me about a great fight to prove who is better and a ticket is sold at the arena or on pay per view or whatever. Tell me that it is so a fallen fighter should get another beating and I am reminded of the lions and the Roman coliseum and the sportsmen leaves me. I cover the event because this is what we do. Not only me but all fans that love the game or have had on gloves or took a punch or gave one.
Margarito has risen to the top and fallen gaining some respect in absorbing the beating from Pacquiao. Now the time has come for him to end the drama and let the sport be only about competition instead of revenge.
