Surprise, surprise... NSB is acting as if this fight is just a formality. They underrate Salido and overrate Lopez, but after Lopez doesn't look so good in this fight, they'll just remember that "Lopez was overrated".
Salido didn't go 12 competitive rounds (the rounds were pretty competitive, even if the scorecards don't reflect it) against a prime JMM because he's a bum. How he won against Robert Guerrero and on the road against an undefeated Luevano tells me he really knows how to fight southpaws.
And if it wasn't for Gamboa getting his second wind in the late rounds of the fight, Salido would've made him look terrible. Watch the middle rounds of Gamboa-Salido and you see the slowest version of Gamboa we've seen to date from Salido's relentless body work. Unless Lopez can stop Salido early, he's going to be in for the same, but since his defense is worse than Gamboa's, he's going to get clipped even more and even cleaner than Gamboa, so his second wind might not even be able to kick in.
I can see Salido clearly winning the fight, but I don't really see him getting the decision.Comment
