I will side With Abraham's son ,whom the Lord God Promised, Issac, over his servant wife Hagar the Egyptian's son, Ishmael, Malcolm X, was a nationalist,a person for Pro-rights of African-Americans, which is what most African American ARENT, thats the diifference, the black fighter of modest fame, isnt as reverered as other fighters of different skin color, cause black fighters have by in large, since boxings inception, Dominated the sport, so if your a black fighter, the expectations are higher, black people expect their fighters to dominate, since they are naturally usually the more gifted fighter, by way of genetics. So take it as a compliment in way, tht your always expected to beast, and feast on the other nationalitys under the sun.

Boxing is too diverse, with too rich of a history, to be bringing up this racial ****. Every race and nationality has had it's time to shine in boxing, and it will continue that way. I feel no need to support Peterson, an average fighter at best, just because he's black. Now, say a black dude comes along and starts dominating a sport where it is a rarity (like Tiger Woods in golf). I'll be much more likely to throw my full support behind them. It may not be right, but that's just how it is.

Originally posted by 2501 View PostIve noticed this, too. Black Floyd fans (or at least those claiming to be black) don't support anyone other than Floyd. Hopkins, Dawson, Ward, Dirrell, Berto, Bradley, Alexander, all don't have real support on a national level from the African American community.
But you can take a Mexican American or Mexican fighter, a Polish/Polish American fighter, or Puerto Rican fighter with a decent name put them in any city with a relative minority presence and they'll come out to support.
I can't really think of a reason other than African Americans just don't follow boxing as much.
