Greatest Heavyweight Fight of 2004

Now, 2004 hasn't been a vintage year for heavyweights by any means. In fact, we're almost inarguably in the era of the worst heavyweight period in history. Yet there have been some good fights... haven't there?

I've placed nine of the most high-profile bouts (all featuring ranked contenders or champs) and left a tenth option as "other" in case there's one you really think I ought to have included. Vote now!!

1. I liked Vitaliy-Sanders the most.

The first four rounds were very competitive too.

Sanders has shown amazing hand-speed and heart.

2. I also liked Byrd-Golota and Byrd-McCline.

3. Vitali-Williams was good too.

Sanders is quite amazing. It is so bad that he has been overlooked for years. Only Rahman and K2 did not duck him, while LL did.

I think if Sanders fought Lennox he would have destroyed him.

I voted for Byrd-Golota; Toney-Holyfield was LAST year so I was bringing that to the thread originator's attention, since it shouldn't be a selection.

Byrd-Golota was a very close styles clash. VK-Sanders was a no defense slugfest that was quite one-sided, hardly a fight of the year candidate.
