Why not, Ishida's better than everyone thought and he's only been clearly beaten just once a long time ago early in his career. All his other losses could have been wins, I saw three of them and I had him winning including the most recent loss to Canelo's bro. I bet he lasts longer than Dzinzurik and theres a chance he takes Martinez the full 12. Could be a good fight, Martinez wants to keep active at his age so why not. It's not a huge mismatch, unlike Ishida vs Kirkland.

I just can't believe people are saying that Ishida's a bum but homie just blew out James Kirkland who many thought was unstoppable. Why would it be bad for Martinez to fight a winner? Why not, Ishida's better than everyone thought and he's only been clearly beaten just once a long time ago early in his career. ahahahaha what did i tell you about P4P QUEEN sergio martinez and that fat, greedy tub of lard lou dibella. lol goat farmers were too much of a threat for martinez they had to get a 35-year-old japanese journeyman. omg. hahahahaha #1 P4P QUEEN!!!Comment

Exactly man, people just basing that off his record. He got 6 losses and so he supposed to be a bum, but check the fights people and Ishida only been clearly beaten once a long, long time ago. He just iced Kirkland in one, like Rigondeaux iced Casey.Comment

Sounds like he's recently picked up Floyd's manual guide "Staying Undefeated: How to Stay on Top Without Fighting The Best!"Comment

To be honest i have never heard of Ishida. With 6 losses on his record ...his next move should be Lemeiux or Manfredo. I just don't like the match up with Martinez. He's moving up to quick.
Martinez should be fighting the best names out their... Cotto, Chavez Jr, Angulo, Sturm.Comment

I'm aboxing fan. Everyday, I surf the net to find out what's the latest. Sergio is one fighter I do follow with a lot of interest and today, I had to ask myself 'What's going on with Martinez'? "Why do I have to google who the 'F" is Ishida? This doesn't go along with someone who is trying to become the No.1 P4P fighter in the world. Fighting someone whom you have to do research just to get a glimpse of an idea is not a practice by a fighter who is suppose to be considered one of the best. Sergio ain't that big to be cherry picking at this stage of his career. Who's gonna pay to see a Martinez-Ishida fight? 23-6 (8 KO's) to me is less than a 'B' fighter! Even if Sergio wins this fight in the first round by KO, I'm taking him off my P4P list. What a shame!Comment

sergio is cementing his spot as #1 P4P QUEEN. first goat farmers from lithuania, then sheep herders from kazakhistan-- now a 35-year-old japanese journeyman. i mean are you kidding me? martinez is bicycle-riding, lance armstrong wannabe fraud.Comment

Dude, I had the exact same reaction! This is worse than Mayweather. At least I've heard of Spadafora. Though that opposition is also a bit cheesy. This is getting hilarious! LOLComment

NONE of them want to fight him. Have you be keeping up with the news?To be honest i have never heard of Ishida. With 6 losses on his record ...his next move should be Lemeiux or Manfredo. I just don't like the match up with Martinez. He's moving up to quick.
