So let me get this straight...

James "THE BEAST" Kirkland has his balls gargled and everyone thinks him taking on Martinez will be competitive...

He get's KTFO in 1 round and the guy that beat the so called BEAST doesn't get a chance of doing greater things?

At the end of the day I don't see this happening. Throw Martinez's name out there with the "tragedy in Japan" topic and call it good PR work nothing more.
It's ridiculous that you brought up Pacquiao in this thread, but Clottey, Margarito, and Mosley are all INFINITELY better opponents than Sergio fighting Ishida.

I never thought Kirkland/Martinez would be competitive but that's just me, I'm not sure if everyone else did.

Another light-punching underdog, Baldomir, beat Judah and received two big paydays - with Gatti, and Mayweather on pay-per-view. I don't see this fight as anything different, if it even happens.

No it's not silly goose, last time I checked Pac won a 154 title (Martinez's). Bringing Pac's name up in a fighters thread that is a 5'10 CAREER JMW is not ridiculous. That is boxing.

Besides you missed the point, I never said Ishida himself was "better" than Clottey, Margarto and Mosley. I said the fights where shyt just as Martinez fighting Ishida would be.

Exactly, people were saying Kirkland was a top MW, when i saw people write this i just presumed they knew more about boxing than i do. So, top contender Kirkland got beat by Ishada..now Ishada is a top contender so he gets a fight with Sergio.

                    So, whats the problem?

Only reason its even mentioned is they where pulling for Kirkland to look good and win big. He didn't so its not like they would still call him out like Team Pac did with Clottey, Margarito and Mosley.....

Martinez's team actually called out a "winner" and a big winner at that... Still a shyt fight vs a nobody who beat a guy that should have easily won the fight.

Like I said at the end of the day its throwing Martinez's name out there with the topic of Japan and the tragedy.

The super six just needs to end......
