Here is what the article written by Rick Reeno states:

"Sampson Lewkowicz made me an offer for Ishida to fight Sergio Martinez," said Reynoso.

Lewkowicz, the adviser of Martinez, confirmed the information to BoxingScene.
"Yes it's true. On behalf of his promoter Lou DiBella, I made an offer to Ishida. Nobody gave this kid a chance but he believed in himself. And with the recent tragedy in Japan, he still came in there and won the fight in spectacular fashion. I believe that he's earned the right to step in the ring with the best pound for pound fighter in the world," Lewkow

Just read the article bro, maybe you probably should have done that as well before you

And as always, I appreciate you supporting Sergio by sporting his pic, he is a great champion who needs hardcore closet fans such as yourself.

i would rather have martinez fight rubio or pirog and wait for the winner of chavez jr/zbik or cotto/margs...but this fight should only happen in the summer if it does. hopefully it doesn't though. ishida needs to fight more names before getting a fight this big.

I think ishida has a chance for an upset so I wouldn't discredit him as such a walkover. I believe people were saying the same thing when he was going fight Kirkland

kirkland's been on the floor before, plus not as proven as martinez...either way, if it happens, ishida should get down more solid wins before getting a shot at martinez.

              What?

If Kirkland won would he have gotten a fight with Martinez?

This was Kirkland's 3rd fight in just over 4 weeks also. Not trying to take anything away from Ishida, but this can easily be attributed to Kirkland having an off night.

Someone posted that Paul Williams should fight Ishida for his tuneup/comeback fight... That's more fitting for Ishida. If he upsets PW, then he can fight Sergio legitimately.

Name me one Pacquiao opponent that blew away an undefeated fighter or even looked good in their fight before going up against Pac? For people to even question Martinez after the great matchups he gave us over the past two is weak at best.
It's sad that you really think a journeyman who doesn't deserve a fight against Martinez is a better fight than the people Pacquiao is fighting just because he beat Kirkland. You are either giving Kirkland far too much credit for his undefeated record or you are trying to rile *******s up.

yeah i know, when he got stopped, the first thing that came to me, was questioning if he was overworked. regardless, ishida stopped him and it's in the books. i agree with you though, ishida should take more fights before being thrown in with martinez. Pwill vs ishida sounds good, if ishida is the real deal...time will tell
