I don't expect Vic to either.
Darchinyan is a much more bigger puncher than those 2. I guarantee you, that if Perez comes in face first throwing lots of punches he will get cought in a exchange and he will get hurt by Vic!!!!

I sure hope so, but Vic's getting older and his punches aren't as effective at the higher weights. He was the undisputed king at flyweight, knocking foes out into the second row of stands, but that was years ago and against opponents he could bully. Everyone at bantam is bigger than him, they can take a harder punch, and can also dish it out themselves (i.e. Donaire's ko). I thought out of everyone in the tournament he had the best chance against the untested Mares, Agbecko and Perez are animals in their own right, and can (and King Kong did) pose challenges to a (not so anymore) Raging Bull. But I have tremendous love for Darchinyan, and my year will be made if he can pull this one off. Hope he doesn't eat too many counterpunches, and catches Perez clean coming in as you said. Cheers.

After the flash knockdown early against Vic, Mares began eating Vic's power shots like candy.

I'm pretty sure Perez has an equal if not better chin then Mares.

Perez has never been down or even hurt to my knowledge.

Never is correct. Perez redeems himself in this one.

Darchinyan is at the end of his career. He has shown absolutely no power at bantamweight. There is no way he can hurt Perez who is naturally bigger. The only bantamweights that Vic beat were tomato cans. I think Perez KO's him in the late rounds or wins a confortable decision. After this beatdown, Vic will need to move back down if he wants any chance at returning at the top level or just retire. He can't beat any quality 118 lbers. Remember when Vic was talking about moving to 122 or 126 lbs? That would have been a joke. Could you imagine what Juanma or Gamboa would do this guy?

Believe me, Perez is coming to KO Darchinyan. No doubt about it.

He needs to move up right after this fight.
                  what makes you say that?

my only worry about this fight for Yohnny is that of late he has been too willing to stand and trade rather than use the movement he had early on in his career that made him a more complete fighter

he stands and trades with Vic it could get interesting
