Showboating against journey men

When Roy Jones showboated agaisnt journymen in his prime it was "cool" and "badass", but when Calzaghe showboated against a shot Roy it was "disrespectful"

I was looking for a real opinion oon that. Personally I like showboating but I hate when people picking and choosing the fighters that are allowed to.

Let me see if you're consistent. Roy Jones did it on many occasions. Was it disgusting?

Against the likes of James Toney? No. Against fighters who were picked for the sole purpose of keeping busy or a tune up? Yes.

Paulie is never going to get brutally KOd. He was also fighting one-handed and still showboating. I dig it.

Showboating is part of his style. It was part of Ali's, Jones', Surgar Ray's, and Calzaghe's style. Its just what they do.

Why do fighters do this? I can understand showing off against a top class fighter or a fight where in the beginning the result could arguably go either way but when an opponent is essentially put in the ring as fodder for your resume it looks pathetic as far as I'm concerned.

I was essentially reminded of how annoying I find this **** when Malignaggi fought Cotto. It was just incredibly disrespectful and I wanted him to get brutally KOed the moment he started doing that shit.
