Comments Thread For: Chavez Sr. To Help His Son Prepare For Zbik Shot

The living legend of Mexican boxing, Julio César Chávez Sr., is going to help his son as much as possible to prepare for the showdown on June 4 with WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik. The fight is going to take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Julio Jr. is being trained by Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym, but he will receive various tips from his father to achieve the victory.

Chavez jr will easily demolish Lemieux, Zbik and Rubio at the same night. Kirkland won't survide even the first round.

I think JCC Sr. is one of the greatest fighters to ever lace them up but I also think that he's shown Jr too much and it's hurt his career.

First off, he's spoiled the kid, giving him everything he never had when he was young. That hunger and desire and way of growing up is what made Chavez Sr. the bad ass he was.

Second, I think he always wanted him to fight like him and Jr should utilize his size more. I see Jr fighting just like his father but he is much longer and bigger than his father and should fight this way.

Roach immediately said the same thing and thought that Jr should be fighting like a fighter of his height.

If Jr can develop a jab, it can take him to another level. he hits hard, has good fundamentals, when he comes in shape shows he can be strong for 12 rounds and can take a very good shot.

I think Jr. can be champ but I would like to see him get a different style than his father.

One thing his father did teach him well is that left hook to the body.

Chavez jr. is a draw and that's about it. His dad was great but Jr isn't.
Sergio Martinez would destroy Chavez jr.

that's why he's fighting Zbik and not Martinez for the WBC strap.

hey i don't mind a dad bonding with his son.

but let's be honest, JCCJ has no chance of losing. if i were him i wouldn't even bother with training camp. he could beat zbik and martinez on the same night.

Chavez Jr. is a waste of space and thats about it. Kid always comes in horrible shape, poor conditioning, and is so dang predictable.
