Come on now, Maidana broke him down over the fight, and it showed in rds 11 and 12 when he completely dominated and almost had him down at the end of rd 12.

agree with the the post above Maidana had Morales in the bag in the last 2-3 rounds that he looked like a punching bag i even think that they should have stop the fight!i wonder if Beristain was in Maidana's corner could have change the outcome of the fight??Comment

What a performance!!!!
I've always been a big Morales fan, but I doubted that he would even last the distance against Maidana, who is seen as the biggest puncher at 140.
Not only did he make it to the end, but he arguably won with one closed eye since the first round. He even went stood toe to toe and seemed to hurt Maidana worse than Maidana hurt him.

I also had Morales losing. He didn't look good but Maidana looked horrible. Worst form I have ever seen him in. It was obvious he thought he'd go in there and KO Morales in the first round. I'd give it to Maidana by 1 round, because Morales laid on the ropes too much in that fight.
That being said I'll repeat, Morales looked completely shot, I wouldn't give him a shot at any of the top 140 pounders and he'll lose a rematch bad if Maidana actually trains (if that was his problem.)
He pulled one last fight out though, if I were him I'd retire now though or maybe take the rematch then retire.
Not hating, I predicted a complete blowout and was wrong about it.Comment
