No it probably won't you ****ing idiot. How is it suppose to. We have no real boxing history and our boxing scene is tiny. So it's going to be next to impossible to actually produce a fighter of real great substance. Talk about a sport like hockey and we produce tons of world class athletes there. But thats a huge sport here.
lol @ James Kirkland losing by 1st Round KO

Did you create the same kind of thread when Amir Khan got ko'd by a bum in his hometown??What an embarrassment.
This guy, along with Chad Dawson, Paul Williams, Danny Jacobs is the latest in a long series of overrated Americans.
These overrated American boxers just keep getting KO'd. Its like Clockwork.
Pirog KO 5 Jacobs was bad
but Ishida KO 1 Kirkland is just as bad if not worse.
lol @ James Kirkland
Dude might as well retire right now. Last night was pathetic and the best move for him is retirement.Comment

I will admit that this thread has a nationality-bias, yes I am choosing to focus on overrated Americans.
However, another name which can belong in this discussion is Victor Ortiz, and even Kelly Pavlik to an extent.
This is not meant to be a racial discussion, and its disappointing that this thread had headed that way.
As an international boxing fan, I notice a tremendous inclination for Americans to assume "RING Magazine" rankings, ESPN news etc are the "be all end all" of boxing.
I find it bizarre when i watch HBO, and Max Kellerman refers to guys like Paul Williams, James Kirkland as "stars" but says Felix Sturm, Sergey Dzinziruk are just "paper champions". Those are ridiculous comments and they illustrate the broader problem with American boxing fans.
Not true. Boxing is global, and more and more we are seeing international champions and fighters. More and more American boxing fans are losing touch with that and seem to focus only on American fighters like Kirkland.
Thats what this thread is about.Comment

You do realise it was whites in America who coined the phrase..."Great White Hope"Originally posted by Klitschko2011If a black says white boy, great white hope or white hypejob....it's not racist
but if I say black boy, great black hope or black hypejob....you cry racism
lol at you hypocritical crybabies.
When was the last time anyone on this forum said white hypejob...it could have been said against Lemeiux....but you choose to bypass that and only laugh when black fighters lose......
Sad really.........Comment

You never hear about any boxers when addressing canadian sporting history. There not very well know figures here. We don't have a history like the states Mexico puerto Rico cuba. The scene here is next to nonexistent ceot Montreal/quebec. All I'm saying it's an uphill battle.Last edited by -Boxzilla-; 04-10-2011, 07:57 PM.Comment
