When did not training properly become a good excuse?

After Kotelnik beat Maidana, Maidana claimed to be robbed.

After Corley gave Maidana hell, Maidana claimed he did not train properly.

After Khan beat Maidana, Maidana claimed the referee interfered too much.

And now after a one-eyed past prime career featherweight beats Maidana, he blames it on not training properly again.

Of course it affect your performance but why is it acceptable for some fighters is what I wanna know. For instance, if Floyd came in and got winded after two rds. and looked a little pudgy it would be ok with me as a fan. A fighter that fails to train has a weakness thats just as comparable to being chinny, lacking power, bad footwork, slow hands. Its a part of the process. Nobody says "Man if he could take a harder punch there's no way that guy would have knocked him out". It sounds just as dumb to me to say "If he had trained properly theres no way he would have loss to him."

For instance nobody can accuse Shane Mosley of not training properly for losing to both Forrest and Wright when he was much better than he is today. Yet is seems common to accuse recent fighters, expected to win, of not training when they lost.

When Mike Tyson lost to Douglas he DEFINITELY trained but in nightclubs and with **********s. Only in a gym about a week before the fight.

The classic example of not training is that of Max Baer,in about 1935, for his fight with Braddock, which he should have won "at a walk". he did his training regularly in night clubs, and this time he lost badly.

Of course Harry Greb trained the same way and nearly always won. I remember when a kid reading about how he would have sex just before a fight, dress himself and then off to the Arena to win. He had hundreds of fights.

A perfect example of being human in one way, and inhuman in another.
To me it just seems like being in shape would be the first order of business. Thats why nfighters like Marquez, Pac and Mayweather can enter the championship rounds and still be fresh. In shape is not a gift its earned and it really bothers me that fans are cool with a guy coming in looking like a blob or gassing out in one round.

That excuse is simply not professional. If that's the best excuse a pro prize fighter can come up with, boxing is not the right career choice.
