Leavander's trainer should be banned

After the 9th round, it was obvious that Leavander was no longer competitive in the fight....even my buddies who don't watch boxing were sayin' "this guy's gonna get hut BAD if they let it go on"....then came the 10th round, Leavander took even MORE of a beating, but STILL his corner wouldn't stop the fight.....the ref, Tony Weeks, made the correct call in the 11th, but even that was too little too late, I don't fault Weeks in this one, BUT......

Every member of Team Johnson should be banned from the sport for letting the man go back into the ring for rounds 10 and 11, that was heartless, greedy homicide if you ask me

hey sac, I dont want to point the finger at anyone cause i didnt get to see the fight but I feel real bad for the kid. Anyone have an update on Johnson condition?

Team Johnson is Johnson's family. Johnson was examined by the ring doc and allowed to continue. Weeks was criticized for stopping Castillo/Corrales prematurely. The ref can't win in this sport.

Unfortunately this is a no win situation for everyone and the entire sport. I've not heard of any update in his condition. Last I heard he was out of surgery in the ICU listed as critical.

Such a sad end to a career for a fighter who exemplified perseverence (Winning a title in his fourth try) I pray for his recovery

I was watching the round by round posting by some of the guys on the forum talking about the fight. it was sad because i could tell from the posts that everyone was concerned for this guy and apparently it was allowed to go at least 2 or 3 rounds too far. I just found id disturbing to see people voicing concerns about something like this and then for it to happen, somewhere a long the line somebody failed in their resposiblity to this man.

yeah its a real shame when things like this happen like when a fighter is gettin pummbled every round you gotta stop it i mean as their trainer your sappost to care for em but that was ridiculous
