What a great weekend of boxing

On Friday, Marco Antonio Rubio travels as the heavy underdog against hometown hero David Lemieux. Lemiux blasts him with all he's got for the first 5 rounds then Rubio savvy experience starts showing up and he drops Lemieux right a right hand. He jumps on Lemieux and Lemieux's corner stops the fight. Upset of the Year so far.

Jesse Vargas probably ends Vivian Harris' career after 1 round.

The three fights on the ShoBox telecast end in an upset in which Danny O'Connor, Willie Nelson, and Marcus Johnson all lose their undefeated records.

On Saturday Adamek does enough to prep himself for Vitali Klitschko by beating Kevin McBride.

Ishida drops Kirkland 3 times en route to a first round KO win. Impossibly beats the upset the day before and easily becomes the Upset of the Year. Guerrero looked like a million dollars against a tough Katsidis. Katsidis landed some vicious bodyblows in the 7th.

And for the grand finale to a great weekend of boxing Morales' lost the fight officially, but won everybodys heart in a Fight of the Year candidate against a young lion in Maidana.

Great weekend to be a boxing fan. Can't recall a weekend that had so much significant fights and conclusions ever in my 5 years as a fan of the sport.

I loved the Marco Antonio Rubio, David Lemieux fight, in fact I was screaming through it!!! I think Lemieux will come out the better fighter from it. Its great to see a ****y young kid get defeated by a veteran. Lemieux needed this gut check in order to advance himself and his career. After his pride heals he should do well.
