Why Is Paulie Malignaggi vs Jose Miguel Cotto A Main PPV Attraction Fight?

This fight is a FFN type of fight for me. But am shocked that its' one of the 3 big fights on a HBO PPV main card. I feel Paulie should of been matched with someone of a higher level. Why not someone like Alfonso Gomez, Jan Zaveck, Mike Alvarado, etc.

Cotto is a real blown up Lightweight and hasn't beat no one of note in years now and hasn't beat really any big names in his career.

I think its a letdown really, and this shound't be PPV especailly when this fight is seen as one of the big 3.

IMO the big 3 fights are Morales-Maidana, Kirkalnd, and Guerrero vs. Katsidis....

The Paulie-Cotto is just like a bonus I guess, I'll be rooting for Cotto, but i doubt he's gonna win, Paulie's like a B fighter and Cotto like B- lol

its just an undercard fight ... if anything the guerrero vs katz is the cofeature not paulie. and what the fighters are being paid reflects that

I'm actually expecting some an interesting fight between PM and JM. I think the card as a whole is the call for the PPV, I like Paulie but he's in no way a big enough star to carry a card on his own name.

That's like asking why Matthew Hatton fought for a junior middleweight world title. You see Malignaggi-Cotto and you think of the other Cotto who beat Paulie in 2006.
