    The Future for David Lemieux

After this fight with Rubio, the future for David Lemieux could go many ways. As a Canadian, I have been supporting Lemieux for a couple of years and I am familiar with his trainer/ manager Russ Anber for many more.

One direction Lemieux could go is to crack- to let the emotion get to him, doubt himself. Kind of like Steve Molitor after his defeat to Celestine or perhaps even Cotto after Margarito. It will really depend on the kid's mental make-up and Anber's ability to instill confidence in his fighter again.

Another direction would be to go back to the drawing board, so to speak, and become a more complete boxer. Lemiuex could take a page from Manny Pacquiao's book after his loss to Morales and work on his weaknesses. For example, Lemiuex is great going forward, but he doesn't look very comfortable moving backward or even side-to-side.

Or perhaps, Lemieux will not become that A-grade fighter that many of his fans were hoping for and he'll be a solid B-level contender. A guy who can entertain and chuck the knuckles well, but doesn't have enough gears to really go with the superstars.

Two things that are on his side are youth and an able trainer. We'll see where he goes from here.

Hats off to Rubio! Very brave and intelligent fight plan.
