Amir Khan vs Paul Mc Closkey in doubt- Could likely be called off.

Amir Khan's British homecoming fight with Ireland's Paul McCloskey was in danger of being called off on Friday night in the wake of Sky's decision to pull the plug on pay-tv transmission.

The shift to regular subscription of Sky Sports from Sky Box Office is expected to cost Khan the £1million majority of his £1.25m purse.

The major problem however is getting McCloskey to agree to a reduction of his more modest pay for his challenge for Khan's World Light Welterweight title at Manchester's MEN Arena.

Both parties are locked in talks, with Khan expected to bite the bullet because of his close ties with America's HBO cable network.

The likelihood is a deal with McCloskey will be reached over the weekend and the fight will go ahead as planned.

Interesting move by Sky. Wonder if they were anticipating low numbers, or were they just worried about putting a **** fight on PPV after the Audley incident last year.

Either way, this is a good move by Sky. This fight is Amir nodding his head to the Brit fans while he's having all his big fights in America. In the UK against a british-level fighter. The Brit fans are great, and they more than deserve a free one.

Sky should start televising Carl Froch already.

I wouldn't pay for the PPV, but I still think it's bull**** for Sky to pull the PPV this close to the date.

And what exactly would change, except us not getting the opportunity to watch the Khan-McCloskey fight? HBO wouldn't automatically find Khan-Bradley a date in May, we'd still have to wait until July. Might as well get to see Khan fight in the meantime

                    Very misleading thread title.

I just hope this whole mess doesn't affect either guy's mentality for the fight. They both better still have the same focus and motivation.
