I'd like to see a larger gif from some different angles, but it does look like Lennox holds him with the left hand and rakes the back of his right glove across Vitali's face. If so, I believe it's more of a go to the scorecards, than a DQ, type situation.

I can't see if it was the "back" of his glove, but there is NO doubt that he has his whole left arm tightly around Klitschko's neck and pulls him towards the punch. Also, you can clearly see that BEFORE the punch, Klitschko's eye area is completely clean and clear, whereas immediately after that clearly foul punch, even as they are separating a bit, it is streaming blood down his cheek.

I always have said that Lewis was a ****** fighter, I recall the Michael Grant fight fouls very well. Lewis did it all so casually as part of his normal boxing movements that they would pass by the ref before he even realised what Lewis had just done.

Clever, but still very dirty and deserving DQ.

Lennox is the antonio margarito of HW's he's a cheater. The ref was either bribed or incompetant. It is disgusting and thank god he retired in fear and shame and the Klitschko's came and cleaned up the sport.

At 8:08 Lennox Lewis threw a overhand right which stunned Vitali so clinched but Lewis' right hand was free so he him hit with it. Crafty, veteran move on the part of Lewis, Vitali needed to learn how to tie up properly without endangering himself. And the ref clearly said stop after the punch landed.

Lewis always caused a lot of cuts with his jab..More than swelling blunt trauma injuries..If you see the way he threw lot of jabs they tended to pass the outside of the head.. Glove and tap causing a lot of friction as it grazes over the skin..I think he must of learned this from having a Hurt left hand..Another thing is he often had wrist tape farther up his forearm than is typical. I don't consider it unfair our cheating just wanna those little inside tricks cagey fighter employ.

"They are prohibited from holding the ropes for support when punching, holding an opponent while punching, or ducking below the belt of their opponent. If a "clinch," a defensive move in which a boxer wraps his or her opponents arms and holds on to create a pause, is broken by the referee, each fighter must take a full step back before punching again."

The punch happened at 2:50 in the third round where Lewis grabbed and held Vitali, the ref told them to break, and then lewis while holding hit Vitali. It was an illegal punch, history will remember it as a DQ.
what history will remember is thet klitsko did very well in a fight thet everyone thought he was going to get schooled.
IT WAS AGREAT FIGHT dont tarnish one of the last heavyweight fights even worth whatching

Its ovious that the TS has never stept a foot in a boxing ring. When you are fighting you dont think about the rules, al you wanna do is win. you dont get dq for little fauls like holding and hitting .

He used some roughhouse tactics but its a fight, he cut him with a punch and won on cuts even if he was losing. Can't take the win away LL but Byrd, he gets nothing from me because he didn't do anything.
