Why didn't Oscar and Shane fight him years ago? Floyd has been calling them out for a long time, fighting Oscar earlier would've gotten him richer earlier and quicker. I would give Vernon the best chance of beating Floyd though.
Dude this Floyd stuff about him calling out Oscar years before they fought or him begging to fight Shane years earlier is all bogus. When Oscar was in his prime and the face of boxing. Floyd was dealing with guys like Corrales and Jesus Chavez and Castillo. It wasn't a feasible fight and Floyd may have said he would fight Oscar but it was his way of just using Oscars name to get noticed. This happens all the time is boxing it's boxers way of using the bigger named fighter to get attention for themselves. But it was never a serious call out. And with the Shane call out it was basically the same thing. Shane was making more waves than Floyd and calling out Shane was a way to get attention. I guarantee that fight could have been made if it was seriously proposed but their was no
contract made that Shane turned down.

ok, so tell Freedom the TS this same thing -all the guys calling floyd out to fight were doing it just to get noticed so floyd really didn't have to fight them.
Mayweather targets fighters from smaller weight divisions, well past their best, coming off losses, and/or boxers who have been stopped in the past.
Pacquiao - KOed by Marquez (before that Floyd was terrified of him)
Oscar - KOed by Hopkins, had several losses
Berto - stopped by Soto-Karass. The craven Floyd chose the harmless Berto over a prime, undefeated boxer like Thurman.
A)If he targets smaller fighters, why is he a 4 times lineal champion in different weights crossing 24 pounds????
B)only fighters who moved up to face him in 48 fights were Marquez, Hatton, and Guerrero only had a couple fights at ww before they fought.....you sound a lil slow.....these are facts not opinion
C) Before he fought them Corrales, Hatton, Maidana, Canelo, Demarcus Corley, Marquez, phillip ndo , Mosley and others had never been stopped and all were A and B level guys... I think Carlos Hernandez and Jesus Chavez didn't get stopped before he faced them
d) the last person Floyd fought coming off a lose was Zab Judah in 2006
E) I know you think your opinion counts for a lot but when the facts say otherwise, it makes you sound like a troll
didn't he target ODH and Shane when they were prime, undefeated and bigger than him, only to be refused by both men?
he wasn't following boxing in the late 90s and early 2000s.....ODLH was the media Darling and cash cow....Arum wasn't having his Mexican icon get beat by some young, brash urban kid who was all risk no reward in his eyes

Freedom knows this, as do most of the posters. Its floyd so they act like its something else in part to troll and in part because they hate that he's seen by boxing media and historians as better than their favorite.
Is what it is.

Lightweight calling out welterwights is a legit proposition? LOL.
If floyd had skipped 140 and moved up to 147 around 2001, you would have a point......floyd stans can't even see reality.
Young oscar doesn't tire after 6 rounds, gets easy UD over floyd.
Young Shane hurts floyd, doesn't let him get out of the round.
Floyd is good, but small, he's lucky the new generation of boxing sucks ass, which is why old men have been able to keep being competitive at the age of 50 like Hopkins.

The why didn't ODH or SHane make the fight when they were clearly the bigger names?
What is it about floyd that makes men who fight others at a drop of a dime not fight him?
