Floyd Mayweather has never beaten an elite fighter in his prime

Floyd Mayweather Jr won a split decision over a faded Oscar De La Hoya. He beat a much smaller, old Juan Manuel Marquez and an old Genaro Hernandez, and an age 38 Shane Mosley.

His other opponents such as Baldomir and Hatton were good but not really elite fighters.

Why didn't Floyd face Oscar or Shane when they were in their PRIME? Why didn't he fight Tszyu, Casamayor and Forrest some years ago?

Floyd has never defeated an elite fighter in his prime.

Vernon would have destroyed him. He was physically to big and that jab would have shut that shoulder roll shyt down.

He did beat Chico Corrales and Castillo in their primes. I though Castillo won their first fight but Mayweather did beat him the second time around. Nobody was beating down Castillo's door to fight him either back then.

whenever the question is thrown out there...who you think could or could've beaten Floyd...I ALWAYS say, Tommy Hearns and Vernon Forrest...no if ands or buts about that IMO

Why didn't Oscar and Shane fight him years ago? Floyd has been calling them out for a long time, fighting Oscar earlier would've gotten him richer earlier and quicker. I would give Vernon the best chance of beating Floyd though.
