  • Brendan Ingle Training Methods

Can anybody tell me what training methods Ingle uses with his fighters? I know there are a fair share of Brit members so help me out man.

All of Ingle's fighters fight in a strange style, and they all seem to have 'bottom-heavy' physiques and usually fight with low hands, switch-hitting and using alsorts of angles when punching. I've seen Hamed and a lot of his fighters in video clips and stuff doing a lot of padwork.

His star pupil was Herol 'Bomber' Graham, and those that followed include the likes of Johnny Nelson, Naseem Hamed, Ryan Rhodes, Junior Witter..

All that I've heard about his training methods is that his fighters don't use any weights to train their upper bodies, don't do any roadwork, and don't do any regular sparring until a few days before a fight. However, all of his fighters apparently do 20 rounds of Body Sparring every single day. And I've heard that he has his fighters do a lot of jumprope and get ups. Do you know if any of this is true? And what else do you know?

I was doing a search on this website when I came across this post. This is precisely the question I had in mind! Anybody out there knows more about the kind of training done at Wincobank?

I actually go to his gym so i can help.
Yeh its mainly body sparring in the gym. This helps the elusive style that Brendan and more so his son now teaches us.
He does teach us to use weights now to improve the upper body, but not excessively. Only a little bit.
The main emphisis in Brendan's gym is the footwork. He has coloured lines and circles all over the floor of the gym which people use as guidelines for footwork. People go up and down and all around these shapes to improve their footwork. But don't try imitating them as he has trademarked the concept and idea (seriously).
